I went nuts, 10 years ago, having discovered Asymmetric brand Trumpet mouthpieces, buying my first one then (model 3C+-544), which worked for me splendidly! I informed Mr. John Lynch (NASA Engineer, Altissimo Trumpet player, Designer and Maker of the Asymmetric line of mouthpieces) of just how quickly I took to his 3C+-544 model (10 minutes!) and how it aided me to become the Trumpet player I had only dreamed I could be. We subsequently corresponded several more times. John Lynch included my testimony in Player Feedback on his Asymmetric Mouthpieces website. I am 6th from bottom of list. (see last pic screenshot of our initial correspondence)
I hold Mr. John Lynch in very high esteem and with much gratitude, fondly holding his memory as precious, reminding of this third Legacy: giving effective hope to Trumpet players like me (endurance and higher range)! My 3C+-544 mouthpiece is still my go-to mouthpiece for every single Trumpet I own!
This Asymmetric Lead-342 is one of two available for sale. I'm keeping a third one, occasionally test playing it for higher register. Tho my 3C+-544 works best for my playing, this Lead-342 also works as intended and will reach upper register notes easily.
The status of Asymmetric Mouthpieces:
Asymmetric Mouthpieces is no more in the United States of America. I corresponded with Mr. John Lynch's daughter, Mrs. Ann Bors, about the company status after Mr. Lynch's passing in 2017. She informed me that after inheriting the company and trying to keep it going, she ultimately decided to sell Asymmetric Mouthpieces inventory to Thomann, in Germany.
So, Asymmetric Mouthpieces are still made and available, but only from and thru Thomann, meaning premium prices, plus trans-Atlantic shipping to the USA (so, ultimately about 0 each).
I'm selling my available Asymmetric Mouthpieces for each, as they are now a rare commodity in USA.
