Here is a rare Conn
4J
tuba
. The bell says 12J on it and appears to have been switched at some point or it was originally used
.
The 12J is a 3 valve tuba and this has 4 valves and based on the tubing we are saying that this is most likely a conn 4J tuba.
It is lacquer
and has a lot of it worn off giving it a nice patina.
It is in good shape considering it's age and has some dents, scratches and lacquer wear.
We went throw the entire born and resoldered any loose braces and put two patches on next to the 4th slide that you can see in the photos. It plays like a tank and has a big full dark sound.
There is no case or mouthpiece included.
It has many more years of playing in it.
