Includes 23 original photographs in fine condition and nine pieces of promotional material, including mimeographed synopses, actor profiles (especially those belonging to stars Alan Arkin and 21-year old Sondra Locke, both of whom received Oscar nominations for their performances), and other fascinating and relevant contemporary promotional materials. Housed in the original 9" by 12" Warner Brothers printed folder which is in very good condition, only slightly worn and lightly handled. Studio Press Kits with original photos prior to 1970 are exceedingly hard-to-find, this is one of the earliest we've handled. Carson McCullers first book and masterpiece -- written when she was 23 -- remains a piece of iconic Southern Literature, one of the best novels ever to deal specifically with the social isolation of deafness, but giving voice and becoming a champion for all rejected, mistreated and oppressed individuals.
