The original Mt. Vernon, NY Bach mouthpieces are highly prized and widely considered to be much better than the new ones -
made when USA made quality and craftsmanship were  still important.
They were made in the Mt Vernon New York factory when Vincent Bach himself still owned and ran the company.
You won't find a better vintage mouthpiece.
In the last year I've sold 2 of these to a customer from Japan and another 2 to a professional trombonist from Norway.
They both bought one, then asked for a second as soon as I had another one.
The claim they play much better than the non Mt Vernon Bach mouthpieces

The outside of the cup and rim are extremely smooth with no dings or scratches that I can see.
The mouthpiece was lightly buffed, polished and newly gold plated.
